What’s hot, what’s good, and what’s bad about Huawei Nova 2 Lite? Well, let’s find out here. This article covers all the technical specifications in terms of shipped hardware within the Nova 2 Lite (N2L) and what features are included within its Android OS. The phone that made by Huawei is said to be the strongest rival to compete with Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Asus ZenFone Max Pro within the same price point.
Specs wise, the N2L sports the Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 with 1.4GHz Octa-core processor – instead of Huwaei’s Kirin chipset. Although we are not quite sure about their decision, it seems to make a reasonable price-per-specs ratio. On the paper, the MSM8937 is made within the 28 nm LP fabrication. It also features Qualcomm Snapdragon X6 LTE modem, Hexagon DSP, and Quick Charge 3.0. Despite the overall performance and features availability depend on the ROM installed. Theoretically, the Snapdragon X6 LTE modem is designed to support download speeds of 150 Mbps and upload speeds of 75 Mbps. The chipset also sports Adreno 505 Graphics Processing Unity (GPU). This part of the chipset is the one to process all graphical data and deliver it directly on the phone’s screen. The Adreno 505 GPU is also claimed capable to provide more realistic scenes and objects at low power. It also supports for 1080p Full HD at 60 frames per second means smooth, fluid interfaces and high-quality video.
Being available in Black and Blue color variants, the phone is a full-screen display device with 5,99 inch 1440×720 px screen resolutions with 18:9 screen ratio. The phone runs Huawei EMUI 8.0 ROM which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo built. The phone has dimensions of 158.30 x 76.70 x 7.80mm and weight of 155 gram.
In terms of internal storage, it has 32GB storage capacity. There is no variant of this phone with bigger storage capacity or bigger RAM quota which is only 3GB. Yup, the device is only available in one variant of RAM and Storage variant which is 3GB/32GB. However, it has that so useful expandable MicroSD card slot that supports up to 256GB.
What about its camera? It seems now the dual-camera setup has been a new standard since early 2018. The Nova 2 Lite also features 2 main rear cameras with 13MP + 2MP wide apertures sensors. It is obvious that the second camera having 2MP sensor is employed to create a bokeh-like portrait photo. On the front side, there is located an 8MP front-facing camera to capture selfie moments.
In terms of connectivity, the device features NFC LDN-TL10 technology, Bluetooth, Micro USB, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hot Spot, and can run on the following network range: TDD-LTE / FDD-LTE / WCDMA / CDMA / TD-SCDMA / GSM.
The device also features all basic functions of a smartphone’s sensors like Compass, Magnetometer, Proximity, Accelerometer, A-GPS, GLONASS, and Ambient light sensor. Moreover, users can take advantage of Face Unlock feature since it has been equipped with astonishing face recognition technology alongside with the standard Fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, there is a 3,000mAh non-remove-able Li-po battery to provide the device with all necessary juice. To make this battery last a little longer, there is a feature called Power Saving 6.0 within the EMUI itself which is pretty cool. It is claimed capable to provide a non-stop 13 hours of video playing or 58 hours music listening.
